Tsukiji Fish Market

Tsukiji fish market used to prosper between 1935 to 1983 as the largest wholesale fish market in Japan. It closed down in 2018 and moved to Toyosu but the historical land of Tsukiji is still appreciated by the locals. There are still many shops in this old market which are busy with tourists looking forward to eating the delicious seafood.

Imperial Palace

This is a place where Edo castle used to be and it is now the Emperor's home. There are many places to see in the vast 1.15 million square meter area. Enjoy learning about the journey of Tokyo, once called Edo, becoming the center of Japan.

Senso-ji Temple

Sensoji is Tokyo's oldest temple with the large red lanterns that have become the symbol of Asakusa. The gorgeous red buildings are worth seeing and the temple is a famous sightseeing place where a majority of people visit when they come to Tokyo. On the way to the main temple at Nakamise street, you will find a variety of stores that sell souvenirs found only in Japan. The area is always crowded with people, no matter the season.

Muchan was our tour guide and made our visit very memorable! It was well worth the money. Recommend for anyone who’s first time visit in Japan. We saw so many things we wouldn’t had seen if it wasn’t for this tour. Muchan was very knowledgeable and pleasant to be with. She was eager to show us around and give us the history on each location. We walked a lot that day so be prepared! Definitely would book again for future Japan visit. Thank you, Muchan!

Excellent for Tokyo First-time visitors!

We chose this tour because it covered 3 places on our Tokyo bucket list but we also enjoyed the 2 other places too (Meiji Jingu Shrine, Tokyo Tower, Tsukiji Fish Market, Imperial Palace, and Senso-ji Temple).

There is a lot of walking so be sure to wear comfortable shoes, we each had over 20,000 steps and walked almost 11 miles this day. There are a lot of photo opportunities on this excursion and informative Tokyo history. The only bummer was the Tsukiji Fish Market was mostly closed due to New Year holiday so just be sure to check for any potentially closures for the tour date you pick.

Also, our guide Masami was very friendly and treated us as if we were his visiting family members - Japan hospitality at its finest. He frequently checks in with you to make sure you are having a fun and enjoyable time and will go out of his way to help you. Before the tour, we were so overwhelmed with the Tokyo subway system, but Masami helped teach us and took us on almost all of the different Tokyo lines on tour.

TLDR: I would highly recommend this tour to any new Japan visitors especially if you’re looking for extra help with public transit or getting around Tokyo.

Amazing Tour Guide!

Such a good Tour. Our guide was Yukiko and she was just amazing. Its a long tour and it rained but she was so cheerful and upbeat. When she found out my husband has an interest in bonsai and Japanese trees she had us take a detour to see ginkgo Ave, which ended up being one of the highlights of our time in Tokyo. She was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions that we had which was also impressive.
The tour itself is very good, but it's long and you should wear very comfortable shoes.
