Great introduction to Izakayas

This was a great introduction to the Izakaya scene. We tasted food we wouldn't have tasted otherwise, and we are really happy about that! Andrea was really accommodating to our questions- so I recommend everyone who is beginnig their trip in Tokyo to do this tour.

If I could give this 6 stars, I would. The best food tour I've ever been on. Megan was a great guide, taking us to three very different and fantastic izakayas which as a non-japanese speaker there is no way we could have gone to alone. Great food, great experience, and then the added touring around shinjuku and golden gai was absolutely perfect. A must do when you are in Tokyo!

Amazing and fulfilling food tour

We enjoyed this tour very much! Our guide Rie was amazing! She was super knowledgeable and friendly. We really enjoyed hanging out with her! Really appreciated her suggestions on other places to visit as well! She took really good care of us.

All the food was super delicious and big portions. Highly recommend to come with empty stomach. We loved the yakitori, okonomiyaki and gyoza! At our last stop we were so full that we couldn't eat another plate of gyoza and Rie suggested having yuzu ice cream instead and it was an highlight of the night! We craved it the entire trip after.

One of the best nights we spent in Japan!

Great fun on Izakaya Food Tour

Lee and Megan were fantastic tour leaders. They took us to three authentic Japanese restaurants and the food was excellent. We tried many things that I would not have been brave enough to try on my own - my favourite being the puffer fish! The tour was not only about food, our guides took us places of interest along the way.
Once again, they were places that I didn't know existed and wouldn't have visited on my own. The night was heaps of fun and educational - surely can't get better than that! Thanks Lee & Megan

Fun night…but ok

I have done a lot of food tours around the world. This tour was fun for a night out but did not love it. One of the items was chicken hearts which we both could have done without considering we didn’t know what we ate until afterwards. For the price I would have expected a dessert to end the tour. Also would have been nice to have someone do the tour who was from Japan but she was fine definitely on her phone the entire time but did know a lot about Japanese culture and explained things really well. If You’re someone who is scared to try food in new places in a foreign country and have someone take you around a lively area this would definitely be good for you.
